Abstract or description

Brownsword was invited to ENSAB to deliver a workshop and two lectures surrounding the artistic research project Topographies of the Obsolete. The first lecture disseminated the concept, methodology and outcomes of Topographies and its ongoing research strands, through which phase 2 of the project has evolved. Lecture 2 introduced a reflective examination of Brownsword’s on-going artistic mediation of Stoke-on-Trent’s post-industrial situation, and how Topographies has initiated new research as regards his documentation and artistic appropriation of the region’s ceramic intangible heritage.
