Abstract or description

Anna Francis has been exploring the Brownfields of Stoke-on-Trent since 2012, this short documentary film made by Junction 15, and directed by Anna Francis is a document of some of the explorations and interventions made on the Brownfields since then.
The work seeks to challenge fears around Brownfield sites, which see them as empty spaces of potential threat and danger, aiming to reframe these spaces, as resilient eco-systems, which can, with little or no intervention, become sites of potential for city dwellers.
The film includes documentation from one of two Brownfield Banquets, staged on Brownfields of Stoke-on-Trent in 2017, collaborative events delivered with artist Rebecca Davies. The film was commissioned as part of the Treeline Biomimicry project, funded by Arts Council England, and shown at Vivid Projects, Birmingham 2018 and supported by AirSpace Gallery, as part of the Brownfield Research Centre 2018.
