Abstract or description

The measured performance of any audio-visual processing or analysis technique is inevitably influenced by the database material used in the measurement. Careful consideration should therefore be given to those factors affecting the database content. This paper presents the design issues for the DAVID audio-visual database. First, a number of audio-visual databases are summarised, and the database design issues are discussed. Finally, the content and quality assessment results for DAVID are given.
