Abstract or description

The following paper: An Exploratory Study into The Traumatic Impact of Advanced Cancer Among Patients and Partners, by Fiona Broderick, Helen Combes and Tim Deignan is to be awarded the Donald Brenner Best Paper Prize 2015 and will be presented at the 2016 Q-methodology conference in New Orleans.

Congratulations!

The judging committee this year was Professor Rachel Baker, Professor Mark Popovich and myself. The judges independently scored your paper the highest against criteria of originality, significance and rigour. They praised the research design and the interesting Q set. The judges commended the application of models and theory and the excellent presentation of factor descriptions and interpretations.

The award will be announced at the Awards Banquet on the 9th September. If the paper has not already been published, we would strongly encourage you to submit it formally to Operant Subjectivity (http://www.operantsubjectivity.org/). Given this is a peer-reviewed journal I hope you appreciate we are something of an awkward position not to be able to "guarantee" acceptance, but all three judges thought that, with revision, it is of a publishable standard and we would be willing support it through the process.
