Abstract or description

Artist Soup Kitchen A creative meal format, exploring the role of food in creative discussion, using the Community Maker project, as a starting point to unpick the role of the sharing of food within a creative arts project. The workshop used the Artist Soup Kitchen format (developed by artist Anna Francis) to set out a framework for how food sharing can create space for discussion.
The workshop meal was commissioned by AHRC and presented at The AHRC Commons: Common Ground event at York University.

The University of York hosted Common Ground, the first national gathering of the AHRC Commons on Tuesday 21 st June 2016 at the Ron Cooke Hub.

'The event is the first of its kind, co-ordinated by Professor Richard Clay (AHRC Commons Fellow and Professor of Digital Humanities at Newcastle University), and hosted by University of York Research Champion for Creativity, Professor Damian Murphy.
This free event is aimed at anybody who is engaged in arts and humanities projects.
The Common Ground gathering will enable ideas and skills to be exchanged, new collaborations to be forged, networks to be enriched, knowledge to be produced, and the value of the arts and humanities to be expressed, discussed, and celebrated. Whether you want to be intellectually provoked or to provoke, to offer training or to benefit from it, to celebrate a project, a product, a way of working or to develop a new one. There will be exhibits, presentations, workshops, performances, cinema screenings, and much more.
The HRC’s Acting Director, Dr Kate Giles, with be co-hosting the Co-Create Zone with Dr Abigail Harrison Moore from the University of Leeds. Many University of York staff and projects will be involved. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along to share in the spirit of this innovative ‘happening’.'
