Abstract or description
Anna Francis was invited to give a presentation on how her creative arts practice engages with change, as part of the 'Engaging with Change' – Artist’s Study Day at A3 Project Space, Birmingham.
The presentation focused on the Spode Rose Garden project, which Anna Francis was lead artist on, since 2013 and how the Community Maker project has developed into the Portland Inn Project, exploring what happens when an artist works where they live.
The emphasis of the study day included how it is possible to achieve a meaningful experience with participants; the role of the artist in places of change and how an artist's practice, or the projects they undertake evolve within what’s possible within the constraints of a regeneration context.
The study day was produced by A3 Project Space and artist Jayne Murray.
