Abstract or description
Francis was invited to share her Brownfield Ikebana project as part of a display of artists affiliated with AirSpace Gallery at the 2018 Manchester Contemporary Art Fair. For this exhibition, Francis created a new Brownfield Ikebana from plants and object collected from the Stoke-on-Trent city centre Greyhound Track Brownfield Site.
The Ikebana was created during a performance on the opening night of the fair, where Francis discussed Brownfiled Sites and the Japanese techniques of flower arranging with the visiting public at the fair. The Ikebana display, plus documentation of the site and process were displayed throughout the fair.
