Abstract or description

Two school presentations for school children under 12 years explaining how film technology today can help unearth new history. The workshop aimed to support school curriculum and learning and teaching in both history and technology. The talk was aimed at young people examining what film researchers do today and comparing and contrasting with the popular BBC's Horrible Histories series. By developing the workshop around subject areas they knew with television productions, the two school groups were interactive and fully engaged with the sessions. The two workshops included hands-on experience with 4K camera technology and a drone and supported the Staffordshire and Cheshire communities from schools in Newcastle under Lyme and Congleton.
