Abstract or description
A commissioned essay to engage with notions of utopia and dystopia in architectural practice. The essay was commissioned as a pamphlet to be given out to all audience members for the L13 Jimmy Cauty MdZ ESTATE TOUR, for its premier at in Stoke-on-Trent 2020.
'Two years in the making this highly detailed construction utilises over two tons of concrete and 3 miles of electrical cable.
Every one of the 1360 rooms on the ESTATE has been scratch built and then painstakingly vandalised by the Town Planner.
The ESTATE container has 3 operating modes:
LOCKDOWN
Look in through observation ports.
STANDBY
Go in and walk around the ESTATE.
