Responses to the Covid-19 global pandemic have witnessed any number of social and scientific strategies, with the UK government pursuing a modelling-led strategy of suppressing the virus through social distancing, whilst others have called for testing and other measures to eradicate it. But why can’t the experts agree? My research focuses on the narratives that derive from beliefs about cause and effect and how these lead to decisions to act. Based on what we know - one point of view isn’t any better than another! But they do all need to be listened to, in order for decision-making to take place.
