Abstract or description

Professional artist development (PAD)programme designed and delivered by Anna Francis, and commissioned by Longhouse, with the support of the New Art Gallery Walsall. The programme took place in Walsall in 2009, and was based in the New Art Gallery Walsall, where I was artist in residence for a month. The task was to creat a PAD programme for other artists which would look at how the gallery interacts with the public spaces outside the gallery. My project involved developing this programme for other artists, where each week over 4 weeks a different set of 5 artists would arrive at the gallery to explore a range of artistic intervention techniques. The project was documented via a blog, and a publication. It was then commissioned again in 2010 for West Bromwich and was based in an empty shop in Queen’s Square shopping centre.
