Abstract or description
A short film which documents the retrofit of the Portland Inn Pub building in Stoke-on-Trent, detailing the community decision making in relation to the building materials and technologies which make the building healthy, sustainable and better for the environment.
The film documents the processes organised by The Portland Inn Project to involve the community of the Portland Street Area in material decision making to ensure the building retrofit is community led, and uses the most sustainable end ecological materials and technologies within the development. It also shows that as well as a learning journey for the community, the project architects and construction team have also been impacted in their professional roles through engagement with the project.
The film shows Anna Francis and Rebecca Davies, project leads and Co-directors of the Portland Inn Project, Architect Godson Egbo and Cornerstone Construction Stewart Chapman and Hannah Harper.
Documentary Screenwriter: Anna Francis with award winning Film makers Junction 15.
