Abstract or description

One of the major challenges in cognitive radio network (CRN) is optimum allocation of resources to the secondary user (SU) without affecting quality of service (QoS) of the primary user (PU) as agreed with their network provider. Outage probability of the both PU and SU as well as the link reliability is the most important concern in such allocation. In this paper, three different types of resource allocation scheme are proposed; namely static, quasi-static and dynamic according to the nature of their adaptation approach with the available resources. In the analysis, a beam-formed Multi input multi output multiuser system has been assumed. It is observed that the respective allocation schemes mentioned above comply with the requirement of underlay, overlay and inter-weave type of co-existence of PU and SU. From the analysis it is found that although dynamic allocation scheme provides with lower outage probability; followed by quasi-static and static, in term of processing complexity and delay the performance sequence in reverse order.
