Abstract or description

A comic novel looking at the not-so comic experiences of a Chinese post-graduate student studying in Britain. Behind the banter, the novel poses serious questions: What sort of deal do overseas students get when they arrive in the UK? Are their language skills truly such to enable them to cope? To what extent do universities accommodate themselves to the needs of these students? The novel is based in part on the author's experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language in higher education.
