Abstract or description

This chapter presents interviews of visual music artists, composers and inventors discussing their insights and creative processes. There are five structured interviews, answered through questions sent to the artists, and two in-depth interviews, which were edited from personal conversations. One response is from a visual music instrument builder and four more are from current composers, each with different and unique perspectives. The in-depth interviews were undertaken with two pioneers in visual music composition and related genres who have each been active for more than 20 years. This chapter therefore gives insights into creative practice from those with a wealth of experience and expertise. These interviews have helped inform the contents of the other chapters in this book.
