Abstract or description

This chapter explores techniques for transforming compositional ideas into finished visual music works. It will describe how a work can be conceived and developed and provides several techniques for undertaking the actual production process itself. It will look at how source materials can be manipulated, arranged and composed into complete productions. After an introduction to useful digital tools and general strategies, techniques for visual production will be examined using both film footage and animation techniques. Algorithmic composition will also be discussed followed by some techniques in sound production. This chapter provides a rich source of practical techniques that will expand your existing toolset or get you started on your visual music journey.
