Abstract or description

Study of desire for more children among the women in developing countries like Bangladesh is an important issue in fertility preference. This paper aims to determine the importance of different factors in producing differentials on desire for additional children for women during the reproductive age in Bangladesh. The bi-variate analysis is done to examine the factors related to fertility preference. Ordinal logistic regression analysis is used to assess the net effect of fertility preference by different demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. Desire for additional children is found to be significantly associated to mother's age group, literacy, number of living children, husbands education, husband's occupation, division, religion, having radio, etc.
