Abstract or description

As Game Jams attendance grows year on year the makeup of jam participants and their motivations for participating have adapted. In previous work on the motivations of jammers for attending a jam (Preston et al 2012) the primary reason stated was students desire to advance their academic skills in related to game development. Another study in 2012 stated that the primary reason jammers would have for attending another jam was ‘fun’ (Arya et al 2012). Initial research into her own jam site suggested that working with friends in the primary motivating factor for her students taking part in Global Game Jam 2016 and A will discuss why she believes changes in the games related curriculum design at the institution have led to this development.
