The exhibition “Supply/Request” explores the choices made by perpetrators of the Holocaust and the ways that ordinary objects were used in their efforts to wipe out the Jews of Europe.
Collaborative Exhibition to create policy impact.
This exhibition explores modern interpretations of items derived from a specific list, alongside photographic evidence of objects once owned by the SS. The exhibition displays these items in a museum-style setup, clearly separating what was physically found on-site from those that exist only in the list due to their limited nature.
While the presentation of these everyday objects is quite simple, it’s backed by theoretical reflections on the lives and actions of the people responsible for the atrocities committed there. This piece challenges us to confront the unsettling notion that these individuals were focused on trivial, material possessions—things like shower components, construction materials, and even wallpaper samples—all while they were involved in creating one of history's largest mass-killing sites.
Moreover, the discovered objects provide insight into the social lives they led within the camp, offering a contrasting perspective on a haunting reality.
