In this final chapter, we draw the book to summary and examine what to do about poverty, so that the future is different from the past and the present. We draw on elements from what chapter authors have shared to help identify solutions, along with additional writing and evidence in the field. We acknowledge that poverty is something that has a long history in the UK and that political attempts to address poverty have not succeeded. Where there have been small improvements, partnership working, public and political support have been imperative. Whilst the picture can look bleak at times, we also see signs of change and encouragement to keep on researching and undertaking activism in the field. Policy influence is important, and change can take persistence and resources, including using the judicial review process.
